The NEWSTART Community Program
The NEWSTART Community Program is the primary path for churches, health ministries, and organizations worldwide to use the NEWSTART mark legitimately. Enrollment grants permission to use NEWSTART in your local outreach efforts under the guidelines established by Weimar University. Purchasing a license for the NEWSTART Community Program constitutes written permission to use the NEWSTART mark in connection with the program materials and the health ministry activities described in the program guidelines. Participants are still required to use the mark correctly (single word, all caps, ® symbol, and attribution notice) in all materials.
How To Request Permission
For uses not covered by the NEWSTART Community Program, written permission must be requested and granted before the mark is used.
- Submit a written request to Weimar University at [email protected] describing your intended use: the name of your organization, the type of materials, how NEWSTART will appear, and the intended audience.
- Provide a copy of your manuscript or artwork for review. Weimar University reserves the right to review materials to ensure they are consistent with NEWSTART standards and Weimar’s mission.
- Wait until you receive written approval before printing, publishing, or distributing any materials. Verbal approvals are not sufficient.
- Ensure you include the required attribution notice in your materials: “NEWSTART is a registered trademark of Weimar University, used by permission.”
Permission to use the NEWSTART mark is granted at the discretion of Weimar University and may be revoked if use of the mark is determined to be inconsistent with the purposes and goals of Weimar's health promotion programs.
What Is Never Permitted
- Using NEWSTART as your organization's name, program name, or primary brand without a license agreement.

- Using NEWSTART in any way that implies your organization is affiliated with, endorsed by, or operating under Weimar University when it is not.
